Find your old Assembly Hall...

i was doing some investigation on google maps for a trip i'm making to pittsburgh, pa next week.. come to find out the the place i'm going is only a few mile from the assembly hall i spent allot of time at as a kid.

looking at this pictures bring back allot of memories.

some good, some bad.. anybody else attend this assembly hall in coraopolis, pa?.

i sent a .pdf to a few friends and one of them betrayed me and forward it to a elder i know, along with the emails of the recipients.

i cant believe i was so naive to think that i can trust someone..stupid.

i have not talked to the "benedict arnold" yet, but hopefully soon.

I love your logic about that JW who wrote back to me about the Sheep Herding Book. My gut tells me that he was lying about asking the COBOE - as you suggested. He may have asked another elder or someone else in the KH who he thinks might be "in the know." They may be either not know or be sworn to keep it "hush-hush."

Anyway - I was going to offer to send him an online link to the book, but when I sent him another email it bounced back at me as being "undeliverable." So to hell with him.

But the very idea that a JW could lie to me about talking to his COBOE - I didn't think JWs ever lie except when they are using "theocratic strategy" to protect other brothers and the Organization from attacks by outsiders.

There sure seems to be an awful lot of "strategy" going on right now...

how about pringting 2 or 3 selected pages from ks book say from judicial section.

make 3 or 4 copies of those pages and plant them in diffrent spots in the kingdom hall.

then watch.

I've been a apostate for nearly 50 years and I can't ID one of them. Apostates look pretty much like normal people, at least while they're young. They do tend to get little bumps on their foreheads just above the eyes and they can't wear shorts as they get older because their tails tend to fall out and drag on the ground when the rubber bands break. I know they do have longer fingernails than most people, most have dark circles under their eyes, and a few are missing teeth. Yeah, as long as they are properly dressed and not carrying a pitchfork, you can't really pick them out in a crowd. I never get caught because I rarely go out in public and buy everything from Ebay or Amazon or send my wife to the store...

The best evidence that the WTs claim that "Armageddon is just around the corner" is a lie can be summed with three facts.

1. Since 1879 Armageddon has been "just around the corner."Russell taught 1914. Rutherford predicted 1925 and 1941-42. Freddie Franz predicted 1975, and the "generations" would come to an end "before the end of 'this century" (1994-95). Didn't happen.

2. At every single assembly since 1920 - the speakers have claimed that Armageddon "would be soon upon us." I remember leaving the 1953 and 1958 International Conventions convinced that I would not graduate from high school in 1961. Brother Knorr and Brother Franz emphasized that prediction during their climactic public talks. They wouldn't lie to us - would they? (I will be attending my 50th class reunion next fall. I did live to graduate.)

3. The Watchtower Society is building like never before. Out with the old (Brooklyn Bethel), and in with the new (Walkill and Patterson, NY). They are building new Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls throughout the Western World and Africa. It makes no sense at all to be spending all that time and money on buildings that will likely be destroyed or seriously damaged during the "worldwide holocaust." The fact that they are building for the future tells me that they believe there will be a future and that they do not think that Armageddon is coming that soon - even though they still preach that at the all of the Assembly meetings.

So little girl, if you are a "little girl," read between the lines. The odds are very high that you will live a long life and be a grandmother someday.

BTW - I failed to get my copy of the letters. Any way I can get them? I checked my local laudromat, but I didn't see any of them there. My usual contacts are all indisposed, tied up in assemblies, or under cover at the moment, so if anyone else can help, it would be much appreciated.

I've been away from my computer for a few days due to a death in my wife's family. When I got home and checked the contact emails for Ex-JW.com I had a complaint from a reader. In his email, he stated that several articles misrepresented the control that the WT and the GB have over local congregations. He stated that each group of elders decide what processes are used within each congregation, following the guidelines provided in the Watchtower magazines, the KM, and direction by Holy Spirit. Quote: "The idea that the Governing Body uses the Watchtower and the Service Department to tell each group of elders how to run their Kingdom Hall is ludicrous. There are thousands of Kingdom Halls with 100 or more publishers attending. Your assertions that the elders have to check with the Service Desk everytime they have to make a tough decision is absurd. They'd have to have a staff of thousands of "customer service" personnel to handle all the calls. You are trying so hard to prove your claim that the Watchtower Society is all about control. That is simply not true. Everything that is done within each Kingdom Hall is well known to all the baptized publishers, especially those who are active in the preaching work. It's not like there is some secret manual that the elders use that tells them how to run every little thing they do. If there was, we'd all know about it. They are guided by the Bible, Jehovah's spirit, and common sense."

I sent back a reply email: "While it is true that I have not personally been associated with the JW brothers for many years, and have only attended Kingdom Halls in connection with the funerals of JW family members - it is also true that I have followed the activities and processes of the Society almost continually since the early 1980s. My question to you is why has the Society became more controlling in every facet of the work? My guess is to keep the flock very tightly under control - especially since the scandals connected with the exposure of all the high-ranking pedophiles in both local congregations and in higher positions within the branches. Oh, and yes there is a "secret manual." There's been one used since at least 1991 and a new one was just recently issued under very tight guidelines. If you are not an elder, or at least some kind of ministerial servant, you won't be allowed to see it. That book tells them "how to run every little thing they do," to borrow your phrase. If you don't believe me, go ask your COBOE to show you his copy, along with any addenda and letters. If he denies it, he's lying. If he won't show it to you, then my point has been proven. The only legitimate way you will see a copy is if you become an elder or MS. Check it out and let me know what happens."

Today, he (I think it's a "he" - but it could be a sister) emailed a reply: "I asked my COBOE just as you suggested. His response was the he does not know of any such book and that the elders do not keep secrets from the other publishers except for personal information in connection with a judicial meeting. He told me that everything they do is completely transparent, and the only guidebooks they have are the Bible and the publications that all active publishers receive. Then he asked me how I heard of such a thing? I'm afraid that he might find out that I communicated with an apostate like you. I knew you were all liars. Please do not contact me again. I'm done with your lies and your evil words."

I don't know what to make of this. It could just be someone pulling my chain. But if it is legitimate, it does illustrate how ignorant the rank & file are of the backroom politics and the depth of the control mechanisms in place.

Sorry again for this being so long, but I wanted to share the whole story with you folks.

I was the main guest on that part of Rick's conference call. I know just about everything that is available, but I'm at a deadend as far as deeper facts, background and current information.

My point is that I've been getting short messages from various sources that say they want to help me get the full story. When I try to contact them, they go quiet and I don't hear from them again.

Either some of these anonymous sources are trolls, just pulling my chain with have nothing at all to contribute, or they are legit but are afraid to get involved for fear of future problems directed their way.

That's why I published this plea. I am sitting in Santa Rosa right now. It is raining bobcats and blood hounds. I have all my notes and a tank of gas. If someone in the area is willing to get together between now and Wednesday (10/27) I will brave the inclement weather and go any place to meet them.

It's my quest for a fuller understanding that is holding me back from releasing some other information connected to this whole sordid affair. I don't want to pull the trigger until I am sure who I should be pointing at.

Those of you who have read my previous postings about the lawsuit over the remodel and potential sale of the Menlo Park, California Kingdom Hall are aware that I have been trying desperately to contact someone in the area who can help me get more information on this case.

While I have received a half dozen or so anonymous or partly anonymous emails at contact@ex-jw.com, they all seem to be little teasers with nothing that I can use to really put a wrap around this story. I know there are people out there who want to help in some way, but they seem to be afraid that if they do they will get entangled in this mess and somehow might be punished by the Watchtower Society or by their friends. Some of the comments I've received include:

"You are closer to the truth than you might know. What is happening down here is just plain wrong!"

"You are on the right track, but there is more to this story that needs be told somehow."

"...and other things involving other KHs not even around here. Are you on our side? Is anyone really on our side?"

"You've only scratched the surface."

"...Your thread postings have been spot on..."

"An entire congragation [sic] has been harmed, possibly beyond repair. You and I both know at least part of the truth..."

My frustration over this story keeps me awake at night. I want to help the members of this congregation if I can, but these little snippets don't really help me put the whole story together. I need more facts and background information. I need some real help with this. I want to publish the truth!

I live in Salem, Oregon - so am 600 miles away from direct involvement in this story. But this morning we received the news that my elderly father-in-law passed away early today. I will have to make an emergency trip to Santa Rosa, CA to assist my wife and her family in taking care of arrangements and packing up his home. I know for a fact that one of the Santa Rosa area Kingdom Halls has been involved with this story on a peripheral basis. I would love to meet with anyone from that area, in or out of the organization, who would be willing to share some additional background information with me on this story.

The dates I will be in the area are October 24-27, but I can extend a couple of days if necessary.

Also, I will be just an hour or so from the San Francisco Bay Area and 90 minutes from Menlo Park. I would be more than willing to drive down there meet with anyone, at any place and at any reasonable time to discuss this story with someone who can and wants to help me.

I guarantee total confidentiality - or will give appropriate credit to anyone who wants it. My goal is to help - not hurt - those involved in this story. I can tell that there is worldwide interest in the story, especially here in North America.

i received an anonymous email over at ex-jw.com that had an attached legal filing.

the first couple of pages seemed to be standard legal filings, but the rest of the pages looked like standard typed documentation (not in numbered double-spaced legal format.

) i'm not quite sure what to make of it, so wonder if anyone here has heard of it.

I have lots of little snippets of information provided by anonymous tipsters and contacts from several who aren't sure that they can trust me. All I can do is promise to keep identities secret and do my best to provide a balanced and factual story.

A few days ago I got this anonymous message through Ex-JW.com: "Please, please, please write the rest of this story. Do you have any idea what is going on? Families are being split up over this - families that have been going to the same Kingdom Hall for 30 years. We are forced to drive over 25 miles to a newer Kingdom Hall, while our old one just sits vacant a few blocks away. The KH neighbors are upset because the parking lot is collecting trash and weeds and there are several commercial "For Sale" signs posted on the property that shout "vacant!!!" Anything you can do to help get the truth out now? Please, please, please help!"

So, like the anonymous writer, anything you can do to help would be appreciated - even if it's not about Menlo Park, but about any other Kingdom Hall in the same situation.
